The book was originally printed in 2021. Look for the 2023 printing which has the most current info.
The variant from Lucca to Altopascio is fully mapped in this edition, helping pilgrims find the longer but much more beautiful route.
Since its original release, the Via Francigena changed its official route to pass through Colle di Val d’Elsa. Just after town is the remarkable Elsa River Trail, with its aquamarine colors and memorable boulder crossings.
Updated accommodation listings are also included, for instance this new accommodation at Punta Sosta La Villa, where Marcello Pagnini looks after pilgrims’ needs.
